Left and Right Audio Recording -ACID Product Family

Subject:Left and Right Audio Recording Posted by: completedw Date:11/14/2004 7:14:34 PM Hey All, I'm operating Acid Music Studio 5.0 and I'm useing a Tascam "US 122" usb audio interface to record some vocal tracks onto Acid Music Studio. I'm new to Acid Music Studio so, when I press record and sing the software is only picking up 1 channel. The audio interface has a left Mic in and a Right Mic in if the mic is plugged into the left I get only left audio on the acid software and vice versa. Is there a way to change the settings so I get sound on both channels with only one microphone hooked up, don't most singers just sing into one microphone at a time. All the cabels and equipment are new so I doubt there is any hardware defects. How do I get both channels up?

(You should see only one big waveform in the recorded track rather than two like in stereo tracks.) I'm not familiar with ACID Music Studio's recording capabilities, but if they're anything like ACID Pro's, you should be able to choose a specific input for recording under "record device" in the Record window. Most vocal tracks are usually recorded in mono; only after are stereo effects usually added. Should I be recording to only one channel and then useing some effect to get it to playback in stero sound. I'm new to computer recording.

(One of the reasons to do the former is flexibility.) It's a matter of preference really.
