Hello, A couple of problems, first I don't have Sonar 4 in the list of rewire devices, Is this correct? second, My B4 Xpress instrument has disappeared from the list, I've tried reinstalling it, and rescanning the VSTi's but no luck. The Fm-7 and Pro-53 are there. Any help would be great, Thanks Rockitglider |

Hi, I don't think SONAR 4 is a "ReWIre device" (ReWire slave/client), but it is a "ReWire mixer application" (ReWire master/host). The terminology on the propellerheads website is now "ReWire mixer application" and "ReWire synth application". Probably because the term "Rewire device" caused confusion. |

SONAR is a rewire client/host and will not show up in ACID Pro 5's ReWire Device tab. Only apps which are rewire "slave" compatible and can be rewired "to" ACID will show up as being available. Take a look under "Insert" under SONAR 4's menu bar, and highlight "Rewire". you will see ACID Pro 5 listed as a compatible rewire slave device. Select "ACID Pro 5" and in a moment ACID will now be opened inside SONAR as a rewire instrument. Resize ACID for your working style, if necessary. Here's a pic of A5, in rewire slave mode, inside SONAR 4 and how I sometimes have ACID sized, when working on a project: http://www.streamload.com/billybk1/EL/Z4HSKDXTCK/S4__A5_rewire_project_1024x819.jpg BTW, ACID Pro 5 rewired to SONAR 4.01 has been working great for me. SONAR & ACID make a potent combo and both have solid rewire implementations and compliment one another very well. |

Hello, Thanks to all, JohnnyRoy, I will try the reg edit later when I get home, I already did all the others. I thought as much with the rewire, because I was able to wire AP5 into Sonar so it's all good. Thanks again. Rockitglider |

Hey Johnny, Lots of good info on your website. I did not realize that you had teamed up with Spot on the "Ultimate S" scripting tool for Vegas 5. Man, you guys saved my a** and a whole lot of time, using the Photo Montage feature. Not to mention, made me look like the total pro in the eyes of my client and put some extra bucks in my back pocket. I downloaded the "Ultimate S" demo and used it to complete a corporate video project which was given to me on a very short term turnaround. I was FedEx'd a CDROM of 300+ jpeg's, from a client, of a company trip, they took to Denmark last June. The company contact wanted me to produce a 10 minute video photo montage with appropriate music (of my choosing), to show at the opening of their company directors (100 people) sales meeting this Tuesday morning, at a local hotel ballroom and she wanted the final video Fedex'd back to her for final approval, beforehand. Needless to say, she was blown away, and could not say enough good things about the final product. I used Vegas 5b, Sound Forge 7b, Adobe Photoshop and Ultimate S exclusively to pull it all together in one afternoon. I rendered the project to separate mpeg 2 video and pcm audio streams and then used Sony's DVD Architect 2b to burn the final DVD that same night. The client had, in her hands, the DVD video (2) days later. It turned out to be a nice $10,000 gig for my company. I am not only providing the video, but also all the video and audio equipment for their week long meeting. I even upsold her on a nice 9'x12' Fast Fold Screen with Black Velour Dress Kit, an NEC 6000 Lumen LCD Projection system, along with a superb audio system (4- EAW speakers, 2200w Crown power amp, Yamaha 12ch mixer) to show the video on the first day of their sales meeting! But it all started with the DVD video. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know a little success story, using your new software and that I will be buying myself a copy before the demo period expires in the near future. It more than paid for itself already! Of course, I could not have done it without Sony's outstanding video and audio editing software tools too!. |

I’m glad Ultimate S came through for you. I do a lot of Photo Montages too so that particular tool was labor of love for me. I packed with stuff I needed and the beta testers gave me even more ideas so it was really a joint effort. I’m glad you found it useful. I hoping that Sony will add a Script API to ACID to I can write some tools to automate some of the more tedious audio tasks. Let’s hope they do it. ~jr |

Yeah, I can see that a lot of work went into the Photo Montage tool. I especially liked the Pan & Scan(Zoom) effect. It makes it so easy to create those classic Ken Burns (the PBS historical documentary filmaker) fliud motion moves from still pictures. What could have taken me countless hours, of trial and error, was done professionally, in a matter of seconds! Even my client was impressed with the technique and how it brought her still photos to life. This is by far, my favorite scripting tool and with a more intuitive interface than either Excalibur or Neon, IMO. Anyway, I just purchased the unlock code and it got delivered to my email box within a minute of me finalizing my order. :) |
