I can't get anything to record through Acid 5 with my Mbox as the input/output audio. It's ASIO 1.0 and did work fine with Acid 4.0 Now all I hear is static!

Anyone else using Mbox and Acid 5?

Thanks!

Tom

Do you have the latest ASIO drivers off of Digidesign's site?

HMMM...

Interesting..it's now V1 of Sony's ASIO driver..not Digidesign.

How do I get Acid 5.0 to use PT's ASIO driver and not Sony?

Funny thing is..it's Sony's ASIO and Mbox does show up under the device.

You can select your audio device driver in Options > Preferences > Audio

We don't have an ASIO driver. We use the vendors driver - always have. We support ASIO drivers, we didn't actually write a "driver".

We have tested in house with the MBox (and all the other DIGI hardware we have) and cannot reproduce your problem.

If you have any more information or a step by step (detailed) way for this problem to be reproduced, I assure you that we will make every attempt to solve this problem.

There's only one ASIO driver to choose.

When I look at "about" is says Sony ASIO V1

My Digidesign is V6.1.1

Tom,

Don't worry about the Advanced Audio Configuration dialog unless you want to go into some of the Digi advanced configurations (access via the Configure button). That dialog is owned is written by Sony, hence the "Sony ASIO" in About.

What you should be seeing under Advanced Audio Configuration is-
Driver name: ASIO Digidesign Driver

Likewise, on the Audio tab of preferences you should have "ASIO Digidesign Driver" selected.

I have the MBox on my test system and see no problems with recording or playback. I'd be interested to know if you are only seeing static recording in ACID 5 or if you're seeing it on all apps.

Try reinstalling your driver.
Additionally, Digidesign has a compatibility alert regarding not using XP sp2. If you have recently installed SP2, it may be what is causing you problems. (That being said, I am running the MBox on an XPsp2 system without trouble.)

Please let us know if reinstalling your Digi driver helps and if this is a global problem or just ACID 5.

Thanks,
Jenn

I am using an mbox with acid 5.0 and so far everything is working great. I think 5 is turning out to be much more stable for me. Every now and then it will freeze up, with skipping audio sound, and I have to reset the computer. But of course last time that happened I was shutting midi devices on and off with an old motu midi time piece. I am sure that didn't help. The only question I have , is there a way to record mono? If there is I can't remember.

For the record, I am using an amd 2800, with 512 ram and the latest digi asio drivers. My mbox is on a powered usb hub (got rid of all the static from usb, very long story... see the digi userbase for more on that one). I also use a delta 24/96 audiophile for midi.. the asio drivers for that card also worked ok with Acid4 but the mbox is easier to record with. I would be glad to help out with any mbox/Acid problems... Later

We have a MBox w/6.7.1 on a P3 800Mhz desktop and on a Dell 3Ghz laptop with out any problems.
A TDM w/6.4.1, Digi 001w/6.4.1 and 002 Rack w/6.7 all using Digi ASIO.
With no issues running Acid 5.

We are not running SP2. We are on Win Xp Pro & Home Sp1
What do you have in your Audio Pref.?
I have ASIO Digidesign Driver
Waht do you have in the audio advance tab?
I have:
Driver Name: ASIO Digidesign Driver v.1
Buffering Settings: 11ms (512 Samples) Because I run alot of VSTi's
ASIO Clock Source: Internal (44.100kHz)

This is on my MBox 6.7 LE on a P3 800Mhz.

Hope this helps, George Ware
