Subject:3 little questions for you all

1. Is it possible to make crossfades on the same track ?

2. Is it possible to trigger (play) a track from my keyboard/midi keyboard ?

3. When Acid crashes, or in general, when a program crashes, is there any ways to "force" unload from process in WinXP ?

Because most of the time when Acid Pro crashes, I'd like to be able to re-enable my Asio drivers which is impossible when
it is already taken from another process. And also to free some memory faster (it takes 3 to 5 minutes sometimes
to see acid50.exe disappear from my Task Manager).

The answers are:

1. No, because a crossfade require two pieces of media and an ACID track can only contain one piece of media on a track.

2. No, ACID is not a sampler. It does not trigger waves from MIDI. You could use any sampler or drum machine VSTi plug-in to accomplish this. (there are even some free ones that are quite good)

3. It depends on the crash. I have found that most crashes lock the audio interface and require a reboot. :( I blame this on WinXP’s inability to control the system. In any Unix system (like Linux) you could issue a kill –9 and the process would be removed from the system.

Ah shoot !

I knew that one. When Reason and Acid 5 Crashes on the same time, I can't do anything, and even with my 3.4GHZ & 2Go Samsung ram, no way to remove the process from memory, even with Procexp (sysinternals).

That's a shame all this crashes i've been experiences with my copy of AP5, on a new machine okay, but with 4.0 songs and stuff... goes weird.

Are you saying that a ACID 4 project loaded into ACID 5 is causing problems?
