Is there a (cheap) batch conversion program that will Acidize my 'regular' wav-files?

Thank you for the reply, but I could find very little information on Sony Batch Converter 2.0; no manual, no trial version, no reviews.

Any other options?

A bit of an OT-app, butin Chickensys' Translator (ie the cheaper Gigastudio version) you can batch process one folder at a time as loops/oneshot/beatmapped files. All files processed will get the same Acid-info.

I looked into Chickensys' Translator, but it adds the exact same info to all the files in the folder. So it will map all the wav files to 2 bars or 4 bars or 8 bars, whatever you specify. It does not make an intelligent guess as to the number of bars or bpm the wav file would be.

I am interested in a program that will include the bpm and the number of bars in the wav file and does batch conversion as well.

Anyone?

What you're asking for seems a pretty tall order. I don't think anything program yet exists that can do that. My guess is that your best bet would be to group similar files (same number of beats, same key) into the same folders and use the Chickensys' Translator to convert the folders. It requires some works on your part but can we expect software to do everything for us?

Dave is right. You cannot calculate the BPM without knowing how many beats are in the file. Sorry but that’s just impossible. You will have to sort through the files and group them with similar beats, keys, etc. and then batch convert each group.

Yes, I can see how the number of bars would change the BPM. Still, the majority of the many commercial drumloops I own are 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 bars and between 70-130 bpm... with these two things in mind an intelligent guess could be made.

Also, more and more loops incorporate BPM in the name of the wav file. I know the new drumloop program "DrumCore" for the Mac already uses that information when importing loops: "If the files you want to import follow the naming convention of starting with a BPM value (e.g., 120filename or 092filename), DrumCore can infer the BPM value for each file."

It would be great to have this feature which would really take the Sony Media Manager to the next level.

I see an opportunity here for a smart (shareware) programmer!

Thank you dabb, but Acid Blotter only seems to set sample property to One Shot, Looped, Disk Based or Disk Based With Tempo. No mention of BPM or number of beats which I would like to have incorporated in the wav file.

Keep 'em coming!

I may have found a program that does what I need:
Zero-X BeatQuantizer

Does anyone have any experience using this program?
