I get this message: The MSSQL$Sony_MediaMgr service does not exist or the current account does not have enough privilege to manage it then this message: Media Manager initialization failed. Make any sense? Thanks! TB |

It sounds like the Media Manager service didn’t install correctly. Did you use an account that has administrative privileges when you installed ACID? Are you using an administrative account to run it? This is the SQL database that ACID uses to catalog your media. ~jr |

That’s strange. Go into Start > Al Programs > Administrative Tools > Services There should be: MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR SQLAgent$SONY_MEDIAMGR See if you can Start MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR. The error seems to indicate that it either doesn’t exist or can’t be started. If it doesn’t exist then you need to reinstall or you can turn it off in the preferences and not use it. ~jr |

Have you also checked that .NET is properly installed and that fast user switching is enabled in services? |

Got it! Looking back I did not have the net installed and though it looked liek the install went okay..it didn't. Did a reinstall of 5.0 and it works. Still some bugs so for now I disabled media manager. It's working! Thanks guys! I finally have stretch and pitch in PT LE 6.4! The was a big issue in PT..you couldn't stretch and pitch drum loops as well as Acid loops..which I use. The Acid loops just didn't 'fit' right w/o some tempo changes. Ah, my life is complete! TB |
