Does this need to be installed for the demo only, or do you need it for the full version too? For some reason when I installed it, it blew out my video drivers and made my system very unstable. I am running a dedicated music computer, which is not hooked to the internet. If I don't need this thing, I don' t want it. I was going to use the demo, until ups shows up with my upgrade. Any ideas? Thanks...

The .NET Framework is required for the full version too and it’s going to ship as part of the next Windows operating system so get use to it. It is Microsoft’s future development platform. I have been using it since Vegas 4 and with Vegas 5 for well over a year now and my system is fine. It should not have messed up your video drivers. That’s very odd. (I can see DirectX doing that but not the .NET Framework)

I am going to go give it another try... I will let you know of the outcome. Thanks for your reply.

It seems to have worked, I had been running in selective start up mode and when I would restart, it would hang. Seems I have to let .net stuff do its thing. As to why it blew out my video drivers, I have no idea why that happened, I reinstalled them and everything is fine. The media manager would not run at start up, seeing as I won't be using it, this is no big deal. Anyway, thanks for your help JohnnyRoy...

You’re welcome. If you won’t be using the Media Manager you might want to disable it by unchecking Options > Preferences > General [] Enable Media Manager.

If you're not using Media Manager, you can also disable .NET and the Media Manager SQL server in services. I'm running AP5 without MM, with .NET and SQL uninstalled, and it all works fine (waaay faster to boot too).
