I read that in acid 5 you can trigger loops, samples and one shots live using an external midi controller - like a korg microkontroll, etc. I am testing out the acid 5 pro trial and have not found that fuction. My midi controller triggers my soft synth's fine, but i don't see any signs for loop/one shot live triggering. Maybe what I read was a mistake? Please inform

No, ACID 5 cannot trigger loops, samples, or one-shots using a MIDI controller.

You can use your keyboards "Y" key, but not MIDI.

You can trigger the placement of one-shots (or loops) using the ‘Y’ key while the project is playing. This makes it very easy to build up a drum part from one-shots by just tapping ‘Y’ on the keyboard. Is this what you might have been thinking of?

yes, i guess it's the "y" keyboard function i was hoping that it was for a midi controller - it would have been nice to hear the one shots, etc to be able to bang out a drum beat in acid. oh well... thanks

This Y command is very clever. Now a feature where it can sync song.. Well instead of when you press Y, it triggers the begining of a loop, well when you press Y, it will trigger wherever the position of the loop might be on the ruler.
