Subject:Newbie needs help-no fx?!

I could really use some help!
I just installed SF7 and I realized that there are just 3or 4fx that are working-and none are the ones I wanted to use most!
Reverb, echo, chorus, vibrato...are NOT working!!!
Does anyone know what might be the trouble?!
