so does this new groove extractor stuff let me beatmap a file that has less than perfect timing like a live drum track? like if i want to set where the quarter notes are manually and such?

I guess you could use the groove tools to adjust poor timing. If the timeime was really bad you would have to adjust each measure with a new groove. That could get tedious. If, however, the drummer had a snare hit that was consistently behind the beat and you wanted to make it on the beat, the groove tools would be perfect for this.

As for quantization and grid, there is no swing support in the MIDI editor.

JohnnyRoy,

So the Groove Quantization tool is not similar to, say, using warp markers in Ableton's Live or Cubase SX 3? Is there any functionality in Acid Pro 5 that gives similar control over individual hit placement and so forth?

Also, you mentioned that the MIDI editor does not support swing gridlines. Will using a "swing" template from the Groove Quantization tool allow the track to swing? I am thoroughly confused on how this new tool works.
