Subject:Automatic Delay Compensation in AP5?

Does anyone know if Acid Pro 5 (or any previous version of Acid) does this? If in insert an effect on a track or bus, is the delay introduced by that effect compensated for inside the program? Thanks! -Seth |

? Could you please be more specific? I initially thought you were referring to ACID Pro 5's tempo-based DirectX effects, but it almost sounds like you're asking about a latency issue when inserting effects? My understanding is that ACID has always done this. In ACID Pro 5 they are making this visible to the user because it affects how ReWire slave support works. So the effects button will change color showing you when an effect has been delay compensated. ~jr |

Ahh. Now to narrow it down more... :) If you're asking if there's a delay when inserting the effect on the spot during playback, the answer is basically dependent on the speed and config of your system, as well as other factors like what audio interface/soundcard and driver model you're using. This applies to all versions of ACID, including the new version. If you're asking if there's any latency involved with the actual performance of an effect in real time, it's basically nil (unless you go overboard and hit a performance ceiling with your system setup). You don't want to insert 50 CPU-intensive FX plug-ins and use them in real time anyway. ON EDIT: Delay compensation. Duhhh...I totally forgot about ACID Pro 5's ability as JohnnyRoy mentioned.
