I was editing a two hour video this weekend. The video consisted of two video tracks (one from the video shoot and one with additional background stuff) and the audio track from the camera mic. As I added another audio track with a soundtrack, I got this horrible crackling/studdering sound!!??
When I previewed the this additional soundfile, in the explorer window, everything sounded fine. But as I dragged this soundfile into the project, automatically creating another audio channel, this crackling/studdering began.
I ended up having to drag the extra soundtrack into the original sound channel (where the onboard camera sound was), then everything was fine?? But that made envelope editing, fade in/out etc.... silly and the end results were not the way I wanted.

Both the camera sound and the imported Wav where 16/44.1.
My audio card is a Echo MIA
