I have sound forge 7.0. FOr some idiotic reason Sony decided not to let owners of Version 7.0 have the ability to download the still exiusting batch converter 5.0. Only members with v6.0 or 5.0. I need to do a lot of batch converting. Forexample cconvertin 100 WAVs from 44.1khz to 22.05khz. Any suggestions?? Other software? Anything? |

You can still download the Batch Converter. Like virtually all the old versions it is available at the FTP site - have a look at: ftp://download.sonypictures.com/old/ where you should find a file called: batchconverter50b_bld156.exe But downloading it is one thing - whether you'll be able to register it is another. Whether you can do so without a valid SF5 or SF6 serial number I'm not sure. But I don't suppose it could hurt to try. Mark |

Though Sony no longer officially offers BC-5, AND you are a registered owner of SF, contact customer service, they will more than likely help you with a reg. #. |

I did this, and they won't. Not having batch conversion/processing is a real pain. I have a recording session later that will result in about 200 files, all of which will have the same pre- and post-processing. |

Seriously? That seems odd. What was their rationale? J. |

They only said that BC5 is an unsupported product now, and that they wouldn't give a serial number to use it with SF7. They recommended that I download or purchase another product. This approach would be fine for just file format conversion or creating MP3s, but I would really like to be able to batch process, too, based on saved plugin chain settings. |

Is there a way to "batch Normalize" multiple wav's within SF7. |

See..... This is just one reason why Wavelab is such a good competitor to Sound Forge. There is extensive batch processing capabilities, built right into the program itself. Not to mention other features, which should be implemented into later editions. but back to the issue at hand ... Before I brought Batch Converter I used MusicMatch, which has a simple Batch Conversion utility. Good - Luck, Kevin ****** |
