Virtual Guitarist does not work with ACID. Virtual Guitarist generates MIDI and ACID only sends MIDI to VSTi’s it doesn’t listen for MIDI that’s generated by them. ~jr |

No, Sound Forge doesn't support VSTi's. Does the Virtual Guitarist track play at all? I don’t have Virtual Guitarist so I’ve never tried this. If the Virtual Guitarist plays but just doesn’t feed the MIDI data back into ACID I would imagine that you could render the Virtual Guitarist track as a wave file and bring it back into ACID. To do this: 1. Paint the events you want to Virtual Guitarist to play 2. Solo the Virtual Guitarist track (you don’t want anything else playing) 3. Press Ctrl+M. This will prompt you for the name of the wav file for the new track 4. Press OK You will now have a new track with the Virtual Guitarist part as a wave file. You can mute the original Virtual Guitarist track or remove it from your project. It’s not as convenient as having the MIDI data in ACID but it’s better than nothing. If this doesn’t work then you may have to get a Steinberg host application. I don’t know if Virtual Guitarist works with SONAR or not. ~jr |

I know Virtual Guitarist is a VSTi, but how exactly does VIrtual Guitarist work anyway? Supposedly, you hit a MIDI key and the rhythm plays? I would imagine you "program" the rhythms to play using these MIDI note cues? (Not sure if it would work though using a MIDI track.)
