Paths in Event Pan/Crop

I really enjoy the ease of using Pan/Crop with stills and my video clips. I had used After Effects and Imaginate (Canopus) in the past and one thing that I had liked was seeing the pathway of the panning/cropping movements. It allowed me to make subtle movements in the flow of the camera as it moved across the image. Instead of moving the camera from A to B in a linear fashion, I always like to introduce a middle point where I can curve the pathway slightly to give it more of a human, hand-held look.

Can one set a default of some sort to see the path of the panning/cropping movements? Just seeing keyframes and snapshots of the current state of the pan/crop makes my fine adjustments difficult to do.

Thanks,

MarcS

Vegas 4.0 does this. I think it disappeared in 5.0. Don't know whether it is back in 5.0b.

Does anyone else know?

I think what Marc is looking for is motion pathing and Vegas 4 didn't do it the way that AE and Imaginate do. You can manually create keyframes and have the motion smooth between those frames, but drawing a path and then assigning the movement of the pan/crop or track motion isn't possible in Vegas.

Sadly, that feature was ommitted in Vegas 5. I checked on Vegas 4.0 and it was there, a really nice feaure that should have stayed. Sony, if your listening, please pt it back! It was nice to see just where I was panning by following the paths. Don't know why that feature was taken out in vegas 5.0.

Didn't know it was gone until I looked for it today. Would be nice to have it back.

I've been wishing for this too; I didn't realize it was there in V4.

That's 2 big things that they broke (purposefully or accidentally) - this and track motion keyframes.
