I have acid 4 f and am trying to be able to use the soft synth with the reason sounds if possible? I have a keyboard controller that works great with reason and the soft synth in acid as well. I guess I just am missing how to rout all this if possible. Also is there a way to be able to use and record via midi an external brain box(EMU proteus that runs into the thru on my midi sport via usb)? Thank you for the help greatly!!! I m just turning onto the wonderful world of midid and acid. Always used acid but this is a new can of...well...acid?! LOL Thank you David |

David, > I have acid 4 f and am trying to be able to use the soft synth with the reason sounds if possible? You can ReWire Reason with ACID to use Reason as a Soft Synth. In ACID: 1. Select Insert Soft Synth... 2. Click on the ReWire Devices tab 3. Select the Reason channel you want to use (e.g., Mix L/Mix R) and press OK 4. Click the Open ReWire Panel Application button to start Reason from the Soft Synth properties dialog. Reason will load and you will see its tracks (if any) in the properties dialog. 5. Load the instruments you want into Reason You can now add a MIDI track to ACID and assign it to the Reason Soft Synth and further assign it to the port in Reason to drive one of its instruments from ACID. > Also is there a way to be able to use and record via midi an external brain box(EMU proteus that runs into the thru on my midi sport via usb)? What you have to do is assign a MIDI track to the external MIDI output of your Midisport and physically connect that output to the MIDI-IN of the Proteus with a MIDI cable. This will send MIDI data out to the Proteus. To record, you need to route the audio output of the Proteus back into the audio line-inputs of your sound card. Then Solo the MIDI track record the audio of the Proteus onto a new track in ACID before doing your final mix (at that point you can mute the original MIDI track). ~jr |

You are very welcome. Iacobus (mD) and I are writing an Instant ACID book that is targeted for this winter. I’ll have to make sure that gets into the "Syncing ACID with Other Programs" chapter. ;-) ~jr |
