I'm looking for a good collection of drum grooves in the rock/R&B/Pop vein. I see
that Sony is selling 5 of its drum packs as one set. Anyone care to say whether
it's worth it for $200? The R&B pack looks good. I may just buy that one.

Thanks,

I have Drum Tools, Mick Fleetwood, and Drumsugar. I can recomend all three of these, but if you use loops for long you notice that you keep needing more. I think I may have an addiction problem. I'm addicted to loops!

I bet. I'm noticing the same problem. I guess if one wants to spend the time,
one can start constructing drum parts from one-shots. But then, at that point,
it may be better to just call up a....... uman bean.

Personally, I'd stay away from Downtempo & Esoterik. I've got my eye on the new Rock Drumming. Drum Tools & Drum Sugar are good, but pretty stylized. Alt Rock is pretty straight forward as is Fleetwood's.

The tough thing (as is the case with many libraries) is finding the "normal/regular" stuff.
