Im using a sound card so i dont know if this is the reason or not but when i want to record vocals, its records the vocals and everything thats already on there (like the beat and other vocals) how can i stop this??

Try this, in your sound card recording menu or list of items mute everything except microphone. That worked for me. But I use cakewalk (SHHH don't tell anybody!) Then on your master out menu uncheck everything except serial. (depending on your card you may not have this.) Good luck
