Whats up all.... I'm using ACID (which I love) to produce mix cds and radio mixes. I use about 1/2 vinyl and 1/2 cd. CDs I rip into the computer vinyl I record into Cool Edit ( which I Hate). But the only thing I like about Cool edit is it takes care of the little pops and clicks in the vinyl nicely. So I'm checking out SF and seeing that Noise Reduction cost an additional $249 on top of SF. Checking out the SF demo I don't see any click/Pop eliminator type of thing. This seems like waaaay to much $$$!!!! Any advice?? |

Take a look at Sound Forge Audio Studio, which is the smaller, cheaper version. It includes Express FX™ Vinyl Restoration Tool at no extra charge and is capable of removing a lot of the clicks, hiss, scratches, etc. that you find on vinyl recordings. It doesn't have the full Noise Reduction package, but it has the stuff that's important for vinyl restoration. It's pretty hard to beat the price of $69.95. |

Sound Forge 7.0 also comes bundled with the Express FX Vinyl noise reduction plugin. Not nearly as nice as the SF Noise Reduction plugin, but exactly what you're looking for. One major difference between Sound Forge Studio and the full blown Sound Forge is that Sound Forge Studio does not allow DX plugins, so if that is a necessity then go for the full blown program. |
