Effects to only part of the track? -ACID Product Family

Subject:Effects to only part of the track? Posted by: raguilera Date:10/20/2004 2:06:46 PM Using ACID Pro 4.0f...is it possible to assign effects to only part of a track? For example if I wanted to echo only the last drum kick of a loop. Or do effects apply to the entire track? What would be the easiest way to accomplish the above example?

I often use to two tracks one with effects and the other without, when I want to switch the effect on or off I then "carefully" switch one track on and the other one off. One track has the effect and the other may have another. They are the same exact track, starting at 0:00:00. That is just one or two ways to do it. Bye - Kevin ******

Duplicate the channel, zoom in, and roughly isolate the kicks drums... it doesn't have to be perfect. Hopefully you have a delay that allows you to mute the original signal and only play the delays... if not your kick may come across a bit strong. Now apply your delay (echo) to the cut-up channel. The "S" key comes in handy for slicing up loops.

Click the "FX Automation" button in the Audio Plug-In window. Click "Delay Out" and then click OK. An envelope should be added to the track's timeline. Adjust the envelope to your liking. That's just one way of doing it. You could also do the same by sending a number of tracks to a bus with simple delay and adjusting automation via the bus track view. (U is the keyboard shortcut.)
