Subject:Export Loops?

Eek!

I have "exported loops" from CD to my hard drive... When I reopened the project I thought it would be a simple matter of telling Acid where the new location was. NOPE! Acid asks for the location of EVERY file!!

So I have 20 - 30 projects all with upwards of 10 samples per song.... and I have to re-map each individual file?!

I also own Vegas Video. In this package, once you have shown the software the location of the first re-located file, Vegas pops up a message along the lines of " Vegas has also found other files from the same project, would you like to use the files from this location?..." I click YES .. and bingo.. all files re-mapped in an instant.

Now, I think Acid should do this too... am I the only one with this problem? is this a short coming? can it be fixed?

Arrgggg..... help anyone?

Cheers

J

When I create a piece of music, I create a seperate folder for the piece. When I save the acid file I check "save media with ...." That way all my loops and one shots are together. As I add more to the music I do a "save as" every once in a while to make sure all loops and one shots are in that folder. This also helps me with backup.

Also interesting to note is that if you re-name an acd-zip file to .zip you can extract it all to a folder just like a zip file. In this way, you can also change the .acd that the .acd-zip references, re-pack the zip, and rename to acd-zip.

Any of you doing collaborations will find this useful as it will let you send only the new .acd and the new samples to your partner for inclusion in a pre-existing archive.
