I am playing the keyboard with VST "The Grand" and it's skipping notes. Sometimes the note registers, sometimes not at all. What sort of issue is this and where do I fix it/adjust settings in M-Audio mixer, ACID preferences?
Thanks again

in the M-Audio control panel, there is an Advanced tab or something (i'm at work right now, can't check) where you can set the latency. Make sure it is set to a low rate. I have it set to 512 samples (i think it's called), which amounts to about 5ms of latency.

Then, in ACID, make sure you are using the ASIO drivers, and let ACID automatically check the latency setting (there is a checkmark for this).

If you still have problems after this then perhaps your computer just can't cope with having to run both ACID and The Grand VSTi.

I don’t have an M-Audio but I keep my latency set to around 5ms on my ASIO sound card also. I find that anything less causes the audio to break up and, of course, anything more drives me crazy with the delay in response. So too short a latency can cause breakup.
