Net Render Ac3 files

Im having a problem using net render to render AC3 files. I have used net render to sucessfully render mpg and wmv files. AC3 codecs exist on the networked renderer. Is there something I am missing or does vegas not support network rendering of AC3 files?

I've never gotten AC3 files to render even when rendering "in the background" on the same machine. I'm pretty sure that's by design, probably due to licensing issues.

Anyway it doesn't take long to render or have I missed something?

You are correct; it does not take long to render ac3 files locally. I am working with 400+ files (.veg) at one given time. The net render is a great feature because it places items in que. This way I can set the jobs up and walk away. I called customer support about this issue. Apparently Vegas does not support rendering AC3 files via net render.

Since you are rendering a lot of files to AC3, I have some rendering scripts that you might find useful for rendering a lot of files. The currently released scripts are on my web site, but I am also working on some enhancements specifically for rendering large numbers of files.
