How do I make audio in time with slow motion video?

I have Vegas 4.0 and I know that holding the ctl key and dragging will stretch it out, but it doesn't sound very well. Even after I rendered a clip it sounded all out of sync and just crappy quality

Basically, if you've ever seen a slow motion funny clip and someone is laughing, and the audio makes them sound funnier that it really is. Like their voice becomes all deep and the audio is timed with the video.

Can this be done in Vegas 4.0 or do I need another program. Like one of those low end video editors.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
adam

Adam, you will need to use the "Pitch Shift" plug-in on the audio that you would like to show down and find the setting that willl allow it to once again sync with the video.

Section out the audio you would lke to show down and drop it to an additional track then add the plug-in.

Hope this helps.

Right-click on the audio > Change length & pitch.

Now Ctl + Drag the video and audio together as a group.

Also, you can change the default stretch-method...

Options > Preferences > Editing tab... near the top of the page, un-check "Preserve pitch when stretching audio events".... sorted!

Buit if you want to maintain lip-synch to slo-mo video, while maintaining rfeal pitch, you will have a fundamental problem with the time-space continuum....

As usual when you ask a question on this forum regarding how to do some different effect, there is a simple way to do it in Vegas, and a forum member knows how.
