When can we get a Linux compatible version of Acid? Windows is weak. Linux is strong. I have yet to start the task of putting Acid on my Linux box. As soon as this is done I will take windows out to a field and blast it with a 12 guage shotty to the hard drive.

HEY! Don't shoot the hard drive! It's not to blame for the OS installed on it. Just repartition and reformat and it will be back to clean and innocent. ;)

I have a Linux system for website programming and internet surfing and for that' stuff it's great. I haven't tried much audio on it but there are some applications that seems interesting.

Check this out.

Ardour

I'll probably give this one a try in the near future.

However. I have a finely tuned-for-audio Windows XP machine that gives me nary a hiccup when running Vegas, Acid, or Sound Forge. Windows can be a great environment for recording and editing audio and video. And also hardware support on Linux for the professional level sound cards isn't quite there yet. I've read that RME and M-Audio cards have some driver support but beyond that you're stuck with Soundblaster and the like.
