Subject:Linux anyone? Posted by: kossos007 Date:10/10/2004 11:01:38 AM When can we get a Linux compatible version of Acid? Windows is weak. Linux is strong. I have yet to start the task of putting Acid on my Linux box. As soon as this is done I will take windows out to a field and blast it with a 12 guage shotty to the hard drive.

I haven't tried much audio on it but there are some applications that seems interesting. Check this out. Ardour I'll probably give this one a try in the near future. However. I have a finely tuned-for-audio Windows XP machine that gives me nary a hiccup when running Vegas, Acid, or Sound Forge. Windows can be a great environment for recording and editing audio and video. And also hardware support on Linux for the professional level sound cards isn't quite there yet. I've read that RME and M-Audio cards have some driver support but beyond that you're stuck with Soundblaster and the like. Dave
