I have read quite a lot about "slip Editing" esp. in relation to Live and Sonar 4 releases. Is this the ability to move audio/midi freely along the timeline that is a basic feature of acid ? Or is it the ability to click and drag the beginning/end of loops to reduce or increase their length ? Or is it both ? I have a feeling that Slip editing is being advertised as a new WOW feature that I just take for granted in ACID. Or am I missing something Paulie |

This is from the vegas 5 help : To help you picture what happens when you slip and slide events, think of an event as a window to a media file. The window can display the entire media file or a small section. When the window displays only a portion of the media file, you can move either the window or the underlying media to adjust the media that is played by an event: When you slip an event, your event maintains its place on the timeline, but the media file moves in the direction you drag. When you slide an event, the media file maintains its place on the timeline, but the event moves in the direction you drag. |

In addition to what Nat said, slip editing has been a feature that's been available in ACID for a little while now. To see it action, hold down ALT while dragging inside an event to slip the event, ALT while dragging the edge of an event to slip trim, and CTRL+ALT while dragging an event to slide the event.
