Subject:No Play Device?

Hi All...

O'kay... this has me lost.
I have a LynxTWO-B sound card. I have downloaded their Ver 2 drivers which have WDM/ASIO/GSIF capabilities. I am using Sonar/Vegas/Sound Forge.
I am using the ASIO drivers in Sonar and Vegas (you can't use both programs the same time with ASIO). Those 2 programs work!
When I open Sound Forge, there are no play back devices selected. I go into preferences/wave and under playback/record, the only option is "NONE". I'm using XP Pro and have enable/disabled on-board audio in my BIOS but doesn't work. I go into Control panel/sounds devices/audio and everything is grayed out. Under device manager, the Lynx is working properly. What's going on???
How do you make? Sound Forge use the WDM drivers??

Thanks,
Bruce

One could only assume that the WDM drivers are not installed . Can you verify in CPanel Sound + MM devices | propertites that the WDM driver is in fact there ?

I believe Sound Forge uses MME drivers, what Sony calls Classic Wave Drivers in Vegas.

Thanks for the responses.
I did confirm that the WDM driver is installed. Under the Driver file details I found:
D:\WINDOWS\system32\wdmaud.drv and also the LynxWDM.DLL
I used SF 7 when I had my Delta 1010's and it worked perfectly.

Thanks,
Bruce

I am happy to say that after all day trying I have found the problem and fixed it. Sound Forge is working perfectly in sync with Sonar.
The problem?? I've tweaked this PC to no end. In my "msconfig" I had chosen "Selective Startup" because I had disabled a lot of services and startup menus. I clicked on "Normal Startup" and everything came back on. I then went back into my services and disabled the ones I didn't need and the Lynx card and drivers are rock solid.
Thank-you for all your time in trying to troubleshoot this. I will swear by Lynx Technologies and your tech support. These other manufacturers have a lot to learn.

Regards,
Bruce
