Started shipping to warehouses last Friday, from what I was told. Who knows what Amazon has up their sleeve.
AlistairLock wrote on 9/13/2004, 5:24 AM
I tried ordering it from Amazon.com this morning, but found it was listed as "out of stock".

Is there anywhere else you could recommend I order it from, bearing in mind that I'm in the UK?

Thanks.

Just checked my order and Amazon tells me the expected delivery date is november 4th to november 8th...! (mind you I ordered the instant Boris book, so shipping may be dependent on the avilability of the latter...)

Alistair, check the price difference between amazon.com and the uk site: If I rememeber correctly, the book is almost half the price from the amazon.com.

All the best,

Paul.

I ordered it last week from Amazon; My order status says "Out of stock; expect delivery by Sep. 14 - 15". That doesn't seem to make sense.
Spot|DSE wrote on 9/13/2004, 8:52 AM
I've heard this from 3 different people at this point, so I don't know what Amazon is up to. I've got an order in to Amazon, we always do so we can track when they start shipping vs when our publisher's warehouse starts shipping. My understanding was that first orders were going out last friday or today to the warehouses.
Amazon might be just dealing with automated responses, rather than a human being involved.

I just checked my order from Amazon and it listed a delivery date of October 7, 2004 - October 25, 2004. Maybe the variance is due to processed orders and expected shipments from distributor. First come first served!
dfields wrote on 9/13/2004, 11:47 AM
I Just checked mine. The date remains the same...

Delivery estimate: September 22, 2004 - October 4, 2004

BTW I'm in Brazil...this is the regular time of delivery

Hi

I don't know what the problems you folks are having with Amazon and SPOT's Vegas 5 new book.

I am an Aussie and I received it yesterday complete with DVD!!

(Sorry I am only teasing you, I like most of you can't wait to lay my eyes and hands on it)

My Amazon projected recieve date is 24th October.

Keep up your great work SPOT.

I don't know how you find the energy to produce these Vegas books on top of everything else that you do.

Perhaps you might share your secret with us?

In all honesty, I have an amazing support group behind me. I'm pretty damn fortunate that way. And with these forums, you guys provide the information necessary to write a book based on questions, what people seem to be confused about, etc.
I'll surely look forward to everyone's comments on the new book when it arrives on your doorsteps!

Oh...lotsa caffeine.

That sucks, Amazon boosted the price on the book. Last time I checked, it was around $33.00 now it is $49.95. Whats that about?

Couldn't tell you....the retail price of the book has always been $49.95, so nothing changed on our end/CMPBook's end.
Walmart has it for 31.00...

Sept 16 - no book :-( and counting . . . common Amazon . . . don't fail me now. Guess I'll render something and take a walk, and a vodka martini. My! The fall colors are peaking up here in the Rockies! Better shoot some stock. Darryl

Just an update:

Order Placed: September 3, 2004
Shipping estimate: September 5, 2004
Delivery estimate: September 22, 2004 - October 4, 2004

welll, enough said.

Spot, ant news about the book's release?
Spot|DSE wrote on 9/17/2004, 7:20 PM
Nope, other than I know it's shipping to the warehouses. I received my first copy yesterday, expecting a shipment of them on Monday if UPS Tracking is accurate. I'm pretty psyched.

I ordered my book from Amazon on 10 Jul, and after contacting them they said it'd probably ship "sometime in October." Said they had "supply fluxuations," which I find hard to believe. How could they not 1) know how many pre-orders they had to at least fill them, and 2) how does a company like Amazon NOT have "pull" with every publisher out there???

In any case, I ordered from one of their "Marketplace Merchants" (A1Books) (click on the "4 books available New & Used from $35.31"). Had to pay a couple more dollars ($35) and pay for shipping ($3-something), but the book ACTUALLY SHIPPED yesterday, so just waiting for UPS ...

Can't wait to get my hands/eyes on that book & DVD. Got a lot to learn ...

I read this and immediately went to my e-mail to call up my Amazon order confirmation - and guess what - there was a shipping notice! Hot Dog! Don't tell my wife. Darryl

My Amazon account still says: "Item not yet shipped, delivery estimate: September 29, 2004 - October 1, 2004".

Well, the estimate date has changed 3 times so far and it looks like it will have to change again considering tomorrow is the 1st.

I ordered the book September 3rd.
drmathprog wrote on 9/30/2004, 2:52 PM
I ordered it on Sep 2. My shipping status still says: "Est. shipping Sep 13 - 14". Somebody is not minding the store.
Spot|DSE wrote on 9/30/2004, 2:53 PM
Our Amazon copy was shipped to us on Monday, so we're expecting it tomorrow.
Thanks again for all the patience.
