wow I didn't know it could do feedback emulation as well. Very impressed. Though I wonder what it sounds like hitting the bottom of an empty dumpster. Probably quite favorable as well :) just kidding, good luck with it...

Don't think mine will be seeing any dumpsters any time soon.

I worked the Liquid Channel pretty hard late last week and this past weekend on several vocal sessions. I have to say I'm very impressed and loved all the tone and dynamics options available from all of the preamps and compressors. The new LC EQ section isn't too bad either.

It's ability to let you pair any preamp/compressor and store ALL of the parameters to user presets is really helpful. In prep for the sessions I quickly stored some presets for quick loading and comparison during the start of tracking so I could go through a quick succession of options.

For example:
Avalon 737 pre/comp, Neve1073/1176, Neve1073/LA2A, Neve1073/Fairchild, Neve1073/MeekSC2, etc.

A very cool tool.

It's funny, when I first read this post I headed over to sweetwater for some other reason and noticed they are giving one away free, so I signed up thinking it would be cool to look at (if anything). Do you by ay chance own any of the pres/comps that it emulates? Is switching between settings easy for a-b comparisons or does it take a few seconds to load the data? Do you have two for stereo use and can it do the Vari-Mu or extreme limiter thing well?

Yes, I do own and have used a number of the models that it emulates (man I wish I owned them all!)
From what I hear the models are really good representations of what I have and am used to. Some reviewers have done hardware/liquid side by side comparisons and the emulations come out quite well. I haven't got to the point of doing this.

Loading a preset does take a few seconds but it's not too annoying.

I only have one (so far) that I'm using as a channel strip, mostly as a mic input. I can see how having two would be great for master buss work.

It does emulate the Manley Variable Mu and the Fairchild 670 (another vari-mu compressor) and it sounds good. (Actually one reviewer in the UK said that the Fairchild was spot on - so close he was thinking they modeled the emulation using that piece of gear.) I played around with the LA2a in Limiter mode and it sounded great.

I think I might go to Sweetwater and see if I can't win a second one!
