hey i do run acid 4 and soundforge 7 on a hammerfall rme card. this does work pretty good, when im thinking of the nightmare i had before on a creamware pulsar. i only got one problem... whenever i do open a wav file directly from acid in soundforge i cannot hear that sound then. soundforge only plays something like a little click sound and then its silent. it looks like it can play the first miliseconds of the wav but then cannot access the card because its locked by acid. of course i marked the "release driver" thing in the preferences of acid. if i do run soundforge standalone it does play very well. does anybody maybe know what im missing? |

Are you using the ASIO driver model in ACID? Try the WDM (Windows Classic Wave) model instead. ASIO drivers can be finicky, even if they're written to be multi-client. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

well of course i wont use the non asio drivers for latency reasons. i do use vst instruments a lot and u cannot use them without asio. but i figured something out. whenever i disable the live midi play button in a vsti soundforge will play normally. as soon i enable that button it refuses to play a sound. for the moment its ok because i can work like that but i think its not supposed to dont work when live midi is enabled. ;-/ |

It's more than likely a multi-client ASIO driver problem from the sounds of it. That's not ACID or Sound Forge's fault, but just the nature of the ASIO driver model. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

Correct mD. When live input monitoring is enabled in ACID, it will not release the audio ports for Forge to use. This is by design as it was felt that you turn this on for a reason. Peter |

I think it depends on how well the ASIO drivers are written by the vendor that will determine how well it goes. Some are pretty good, others not so good. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

Exactly. Some drivers will share, some will not. Creamware hardware really virtualizes the actual i/o ports and permits sharing to work rather well. Peter |

exact. i've scope "creamware" and rme 9632. acid and soundforge work very well with this 2 cards audio. and creamware virtualize very well the I/O. |

PulsarII here too. I have all sorts of audio apps running with never a twinge of fear :-) Pulsar enjoys chatting to Sony apps. |
