Hi, I've done a search on Acid 4 freezing and did find folks with the freezing problem, But no one said how they fix it. The same thing is happening to me...
Any answers out there ?
thanks in advance...
Rick.

i assume you have a creative soundcard, or a games type soundcard. And I assume that it started when you began trying to record Audio. I purchased a proper Audio card and the freezing stopped. It's to do, usually, with the recording Hz at 41000 with a dodgy soundcard. Maybe I'm wrong but it worked for me and many others.

Well.... I'm using an M-Audio Audiophile USB that sits outside the cpu. You think it could be something else ?

There are so many things that could cause it, Rick. Try and see if the USB controller the Audiophile USB is on is alone and not sharing any resources with any other device in your system. Similarly, ensure that the Audiophile is not sharing USB bandwidth with other USB devices; move any USB devices to other ports on other controllers if you have to.

Try reducing video acceleration (or turning if off). Video does account for a majority of computer problems and this could be no exception. (You could also try updating your video card's drivers first to see if that helps.)

Thank you lacobus, What you told me right out the gate WORKed. I turned off the video acceleration and the freezing stopped. I'm still going to look into updating the vid drivers, But thanks again cause I sure didn't look forward to the process of elimination thing, :) But I would have done it....
