Subject:Need help tranfering acd files to a new computer

I'm transferring my Acid Music 3.0 projects (acd.files) from my laptop to my new computer. When I try to open them in my new computer, I get a pop-up that says, "An error occured while loading the project file (NAME).acd. The item was not found."

Here's where it gets complicated. The laptop with the original files died. I've extricated and rescusitated the C: drive, and am able to patch in its contents via USB. Is there some way to make the new computer recognize these files?

Hmm. Doesn't strictly sound like the ACD file itself is corrupt. What if you tried putting the file in the same location as it was originally? (For example, if the original project was located in "C:\Projects" on your old system, try putting the project in the same location on your new system.)

I think that everything is actually OK with your files .
That warning usually appears when ACID cannot find ...hmmm.. for example some DX reverb which you used in this project on your old computer and forgot to install on your new one.
What's happening next? After this scary message?

Has anyone made any progress with this type of error?
