Question about preferences

I have a single processor system (P4-3.0e) but VV5 reports 2 processors in the computer tab under About Sony Vegas 5.0. I am elated that VV5 things my system has all this power.

In the general preference window should I select or deselect the 'disable multi-processor AVI rendering' option? What is this option all about?

Your processor has "Hyper Threading" which makes it appear as if there are 2 processors. If you launch the Windows Task Manager you will see that it also reports 2 processors.

No need to change anything.

Leave it unchecked, even though Vegas is simply seeing the dual threads of an HT processor.
Leaving this unchecked allows Vegas to be at the 'front' of the CPU qeue.
