Just curious to know. In Acid 4.0 where do you go to set up the program to recieve Midi Time Clock? I am trying to get my MPC 1000 synched up with Acid via midi. I just need to know where to set the channel in Acid so that it recieves the data from my MPC.

ACID Pro is the only version of ACID that has MIDI sync. If you have ACID Pro, go to the Sync tab and ensure that ACID Pro is generating MIDI Clock via your audio interface's MIDI port.

Then use SHIFT+F7 to generate MIDI Clock.

Also note that ACID Pro can only generate MIDI Clock and can generate MTC in addition to be triggered from MTC. It's ideal if ACID acts as the master for the device to slave to.

Hello, sorry if I seem naive regarding these issues on MIDI. I haven't used my Keyboards and Sequencer in years and I think I have forgotten some of the basics. What is MTC, and does Acid Trigger the Devise and record in MIDI info or can it record it in MP3 as well once the Channel is set to drive the devise?

> What is MTC

MTC is MIDI Time Code. It allows you to generate SMPTE Timecode to sync with any number of SMPTE aware devices. All the devices should be using the same SMPTE format (drop frame, non-drop frame, etc.)

> Does Acid Trigger the Devise and record in MIDI info

These are two separate things. Yes, ACID can trigger the device and it will play along with the ACID project. If you plug the MIDI OUT of the device into the MIDI IN of your PC *AND* you place ACID in MIDI record mode, it will record the MIDI coming from the device.

No, MP3 is an output format for ACID. All Audio recording is recorded in WAV format. You would need to plug the AUDIO OUT of the device into the AUDIO IN of your PC and place ACID in AUDIO record mode.

Note: It is not clear if you are trying to record MIDI or AUDIO into ACID? These are two separate steps. ACID can only record one track at a time and that track can either be MIDI or AUDIO. If all you want is the audio (sound) from the device, there is no need to record MIDI. Just sync the devices with MTC and record AUDIO.

That is what I wanted to do, since I don’t have a way to control multiple Midi devise at the same time anymore I would like to create multiple Drum Track Loops and Record them one at a time through Acid and use to compile them. Then I could come in and use the same process to Crate the Music Loops. I suppose Acid will use the MIDI Device Time Code to Sync with the Acid Time Code so they will all match, is this correct?

Yes, you can use MTC to sync either ACID to the drum machine or the drum machine to ACID. It works better when ACID is the master device if that’s possible.
