How do you save the midi settings with an Acid project (such as volume and panning data)?

There are two ways: If you go into the MIDI track's properties and click the save file button (the one that has a diskette on it), it should save any edited MIDI properties in the MIDI file itself.

The other way is to save the ACID project. Note that this will only save any changes in the project and not in the MIDI file itself. (For example, if you make any changes to the MIDI file and simply save the ACID project, any changes made will be lost when you open that MIDI file in another ACID project. You'd have to go back to the original project to get the edited MIDI settings back.)

I can't save the midid information with the project - Acid won't let me, for some reason. Is there a way I can change this so that volume and panning are the same any time i open the project?

I've tried saving the midi with the button you suggested, but that doesn't work either.
Please help!

Ahh. Apparently, pitch shifting, mute, solo, volume, and pan settings under the General tab are not saved back to the MIDI file itself. But they retain their settings when the project itself is saved.

Do you use this particular MIDI track for multiple projects? Maybe you could create a template-type project to start off with?

when i change the volume of a midi track, press save under the general tab, go to save under the file tab in the main screen, close the acid project, open the project again, the volume of the midi track always returns to normal.

I don't know what you mean about a "template-type project" - explain . . . ?

If you use this particular MIDI track multiple times and want to retain the MIDI track's volume itself, what you could do is create a new ACID project, insert the MIDI track, change its volume settings and title it something like, "My MIDI Template," and save it.

Each time you open this template, the MIDI track settings themselves will be retained as they were.

(Note that you should immediately save the template under a new project name so you can continue working on your new project while leaving the template alone.)

I;m working on a midi project and everytime I alter an envelope or anything for that matter everything is saved with the project ,, maybe try re-setting the" default " preferences... what softsynth are you using? are you using acid 4.0f?

That's correct, but music247's problem is that he (she?) wants to change and apparently keep the volume settings set in the MIDI track properties itself.

If music247 brings this same MIDI track into another project, the settings for volume in the MIDI track properties are reset. The only way to save these properties is if they're saved at the project level (like you have it) rather than within the MIDI file itself.
