Any suggestions for a good/cheap midi keyboard?

How much are you looking to spend? Up to $1k? I'd get the Triton LE on sale as I have seen it down around $1k or slightly less for the 61 key. Do you want expansion ability? Check your local Daddys Junky Music or Guitar Center for used gear. Granted you aren't saving a lot but gives you something to look into. Also check on Ebay.

I have a Korg Karma w/MOSS board and Triton LE w/Sampler currently and I have yet to dig deep under the hoods yet to really start twiddling stuff or creating my own patches. Do you just want to play a keyboard and use softsynths? Look into an Edirol or other model that's just a MIDI controller then. I saw a nice 88 key for ~$500 at a local Guitar center that if I didn't have two synths I'd consider one of them.

You need to give us a bit more information if you want an answer that applies to your situation.

Are you just looking for a MIDI keyboard controller to use with Soft Synths in ACID or do you want one that produces its own sound too? Are you a keyboard player and want to play with both hands (in which case you’ll want either 49 or 61 or even 88 keys) or are do you just want to input bass lines, drums, a few pad chords? (in which case you might get by with a 25 note keyboard). What’s your price range? Cheap is relative.

M-Audio has MIDI controllers from $99 to $299. I picked up the M-Audio Radium49 used for $68 on eBay (it lists for $199 and retails for around $149). The M-Audio Oxygen8 that DKeenum suggest has 25 keys so you won’t be playing any lavish piano pieces on it, but it gets the job done for bass lines, drums, pads, etc. and its small and portable for taking on the road.

I’ve been very happy with my M-Audio Radium49, I know the Oxygen8 is great too. Any of the M-Audio keyboard products should serve you well. They also have an Evolution series for a little more money.

Sorry - should have been more specific. For now, I just want a keyboard controller to use with Soft Synths - just so I can play bass lines, etc. as opposed to using my mouse. What's the m-audio 99$ model?

That would be the M-Audio Keystation 49e which lists for $129 with a street price of $99. If you do a Froogle search you can find it for as cheap as $89 new.

loopyloops,
I've thought a lot about this thread... well, about $100 for an oxygen 8. Tell me more. Did they offer this deal? Was it a returned item? Did you have a gun? I want to try to get the same deal.
