I wonder if ACID Pro 5.0 will have some of these new features (some already exist in ACID Pro 4.0) plus more?

(mu...mu...muhahahaha...)

Gee, lets see:

Event reverse to alter music and loops in real-time.
Metronome for precise timing of events during record and playback.
Disc-at-once CD burning to create continuous mixes of music without breaks, suitable for duplication.

Now where have I seen those features requested before... no don’t tell me, let me think... Oh yea. Right HERE! ;-) I don’t know about you but I’m getting excited about ACID Pro 5.0. Would it? Could it? Should it?

Wait, let me get my popcorn... OK. Let the speculation begin!

Damn!!!!
You think if they where going to add Disc-at-Once CD burning they could have added a CDtext feature. There goes another missed opportunity.

I would expect any burning feature to be rudimentary anyway.

Some of it ACID Pro 4.0 already has, some not.

The things ACID Pro 4.0 already has include the Chopper, MIDI piano roll editor, master bus track and alternate time signature support.

The things ACID Pro 4.0 doesn't have are the metronome, Flash import, event reverse and Disc-at-Once burning.

holy brown flaming poo! The ability to import .swf files? Damn, that's worth it for us right there. We have to use SWF2Video, convert it to .avi, then use Cleaner and convert to a compressed .mov, then delete the huge ass .avi. Oh please let this be true.

Are they dumping the Screenblast brand?

SWF export would be hot. I'm always trying to creat a somewhat protected way of letting people listen to demos. SWF player does the trick. That would probably involve some lisscnsing fee to Macromedia.

To answer the Screenblast question- Yes.

Thank God!
It always reminded me of Screengems... or whatever it was called that was producing 60's TV shows.
Not that I'm old enough to remember that of course.

Oh, who am I kidding... I am.

Oh wait! I must be thinkin' of watching the re-runs. Yeah, that's it! Re-runs! Cuz I'm only (gulp) 28...yeah 28.

Sigh. :-(

umm, that doesn't seem like a whole lot of goodies, imho. i was hoping v5,0 would at least include Group Tracks or something to that effect. and how about simple stuff, like being able to choose more colors for tracks? or is that too mundane to list? ;) i hope they at least optimized the audio rendering engine a bit for a cleaner sound.

Yes ATP thats what i sort of meant in my post... a metronome, and event reverse doesnt seem worth like a 2 1/2 year wait

Lets hope they suprise us.... :)

ATP, I was noting only the differences between the existing ACID Pro 4.0 and the new ACID Music Studio 5.0.

I would gather ACID Pro 5.0 would have the never-before-seen features in ACID Music Studio plus more as it always has.

The audio rendering engine? You mean how time stretched loops sound? That would be nice, but I'm not sure if it can actually get any better than it is already.

In fact, if you look at the new features in ACID Music Studio like the MIDI DLS, & Chopper that were previously only in the Pro version, you can imagine that they are backfilling the Pro version with even more great stuff to separate the two applications.

It would be so cool if acid would support at least eight separate inputs/tracks for recording - I mean seriously, wouldn't it just rock if you could sequence songs/ideas & then bring your drummer buddy in & have him play live over your tracks & be able to use the proper eq/gates/comp that "real" studios offer? that would just rock.
