Hey, whatsup. Im new to this forum, and a new owner of Acid Pro 4.0

Is there a way to capture ("extract") audio from a video or movie?

Specifically, Im looking for sound bytes (.wavs, .mp3s, etc...) from movies, and Im currently stuck on Road To Perdition
I cant find any website that has audio from the movie, so Im interested in whether I can manually take the dialogue from the movie itself, using Acid

Thanks,

And also... is there a way to stop the cursor from following the scrolling bar during playblack? It gets annoying when Im listening to the project, while trying to work on a certain spot

Assuming you have the movie in a file that you can place on the timeline (.avi, .mpg, .wmv, etc.) you can select the section you want, then Render As to an audio only type (.wav, .mp3, .wma, etc) and check "Render loop region only".

Adding to what Chienworks mentioned, if you don't want the cursor to scroll along with the scroll bar, try setting the Loop Region over the area you'd like to concentrate on and toggle loop playback on. (Q is the keyboard shortcut. You can tell loop playback is on by the Loop Region turning a dark blue.)
