Subject:ACID 4 and SP2 for XP

Does ACID 4 work alright after updating to Service Pack 2 on Windows XP? I don't want to update, and then end up being stuck without ACID.

Thanks!

Using ACID Pro 4.0 and XP SP2 without any problems thus far. Works like a charm.

(Note that I don't have Security Center monitoring my firewall or (3rd party) antivirus like it does by default. You can turn these features off if you already have a firewall and/or antivirus solution and don't want the hand holding.)

There are relatively few things SP2 has a problem with, mostly online games and some utilities. Sometimes I wonder if the industry needs to take a break with the chicken little garbage.

I made the upgrade to XP Pro SP2 two days ago in the middle of working on a project. Before the upgrade everything was fine. I now get serious audio glitches trying to play the project back even after bumping up the audio buffer. It's an Acid 4.0e Pro project with 8 tracks at 24bit/96kHz using 3 loops, and 5 bitmapped tracks.

The SP2 upgrade was the only thing that I changed ,so I know it's at fault... I now need to figure out what it changed that's causing me problems. I'm running a 3GHz Pentium 4 with 1GB RAM, a 7.2k RPM SATA drive with Creative Audigy2 Platinum Ex sound card (ASIO2). Any suggestions appreciated!

Did you try uninstalling/reinstalling ACID Pro 4.0?

Having tried everything else (reinstalling Creative drivers etc) I eventually got round to an uninstall/reinstall of Acid (with reapplication of the 4.0f patch) and this seems to have cured the glitches I was seeing.

Thanks for the suggestion Iacobus.
