I'm pretty efficient at making ACID projects from loops with all the rythem and whistles and droning basses, but how to I get a tune into ACID? Or how do I set block chords to accompany that tune? |

Do you have a midi keyboard? If not there's a piano scroll editor. |

I would check out the Sustained Inversions Vol. 1 & 2 from Hark Loops. It’s a unique idea in looping (read more here). They have sustained loops that you place on two tracks and alternate between so the chords change with a sustained overlap which sounds more natural for chord progressions. You can download some sample loops from their site so you can see if this satisfies your need. ~jr |

As JR states -- if you are looking for accompanying chord progressions, you can create your own customized, natural-sounding progressions with Sustained Inversions. It does take a bit of a nudge in thinking within a loop-based composing environment -- it's not a grab-n-go library by any means -- but those who use it swear by it. For those interested... Sustained Inversions started out as a chord progression library. We had the debates about what people would want: I-IV? I-V? i-VII? Change on the measure or half measure? Synchopated? More than two chords? If so, which ones? With any loop library, the toughest aspect is to anticipate what the user will want. At one point, I decided it would be great if the user could just make those decisions for themselves. One thing led to another, and we came up with this set. |

I bought the "Gorgeous Piano" and "Sustained Inversions" and this collection is unbelievable! (mind you that is coming from a complete music ingnoramus...) Where have these been all my acidized life! So far put a couple of pieces together which even my wife likes (which, given that she is not keen particularly keen on music, is saying a lot...) Chek them out: it's well worth it in my opinion (I would put a link to me tame efforts but I'm too embarrassed, soz...) Going to chek out other offers from these guys. Thanks for putting those avaliable! Regards Paul. |

There is a very tuneful ACID loop on the SONY HD CAM demo clip. This clip is linked from the VEAGAS VIDEO part of this forum. You need go see it if you have not already. Show what the new prototype Sony HD cam can do. Then I ask how was the music loop done. Is the loop formed from a disk of loops for sale or must this type of music be prepared on a keyboard? Mike |
