I have some lossless flac files I need to edit (IN FLAC without converting!)
can Sound Forge do this?
Is there a codec?

If it can't (then it should !) but is there software that does?
Thanks

SoundForge only use their own codec drivers.

You have to convert flac to the wav format, and 'if' SoundForge could handle the flac files, they are converted to the wav format anyway with another file extension.

Try this forum for flac information

The nature of the codec makes it extremely difficult to "edit" the compressed file. Any editor that does probably does a conversion to wav on the fly. Why not simply uncompress the file and then edit?
