Acid Pro 4.0f with XP Home, 2 SATA drives here and working well.
List your PC specs so we can have a looksie.

It's been said that it's basically the same group working on Acid now as was working on Acid when SoFo owned it.

Any error messages when you crash? Does it crash at the same point everytime or at different occasions, etc.
Details, man, details! :-)

First thing to do is check the event viewer, and see what it says.

Have you tried un/re-installing? Could be something didn't click into place.

Could it be that ACID is waiting on your ST Audio soundcard drivers? A quick Google search uncovered this post on the Cubase forum that suggests that their customers are not happy at all with BSOD problems etc. At a minimum make sure you’re using the latest drivers for your soundcard.

If you can, I would try a different audio card and see if that makes a difference in stability. Poorly written device drivers can crash your system and it’s not the applications fault.

I would look at the device drivers as JohnnyRoy mentioned.

They may work with one app but not another. I remember ATI releasing a set of video drivers once that only Sony's apps would cause them to crash. (It was acknowledged to be ATI's fault, BTW.)

Umm...dabb...apart from this hit and run, please furnish proof, because otherwise Peter and Joel have mentioned a few times that ACID 5 is indeed under development.

(This is where I say, "Mu...mu...muhahahahaha...")
