You have to be more specific. |

Remixing is not exactly as easy as others make it look, especially if you don't have the right materials. The easiest way is to have someone supply the right materials like they do for the contests at ACIDplanet. Could you be a little bit more specific as to how you're going about doing it? Check out the remixes on acidplanet.com. The two avaliable right now are not dance or r&b oriented, but the jazz one could be something to check out. Listen to the different submissions and you'll learn things. Usually you start with some of the origional tracks and work from there. As I've told you, remixing is an art, so you're going to have to study it. Read, google, talk to DJs, etc. Try an acidplanet.com remix. Nothing is better than learning by doing. |

What he's asking, now in the fourth post with different titles is "how do you remove vocals from a song." Maybe he'll figure it out one of these posts. Let me give you a clue and spell it out for you. YOU CAN'T REMOVE OR EXTRACT VOCALS FROM A SONG. At least not enough to achieve what you are trying to do. Many artist release singles with instrumental and acapella versions. So a DJ will take an acapella of one song and beat match it to an instrumental of another song. That is the only true way you can do what you are asking, unless you have the original multitrack recorded material. |

what i do is take a accapella vocal open it in acid open a standard drum loop get the vocal in time with the drum loop. then create music once the vocal is mostly correct. you may have to continue to edit vocals(offsetting one word at a time if needed) to make things perfect. i use timefactory or recycle to change the vocal tempo(if its over 10 bpm diffrence), than bring it into acid. |

Your best bet is to use a P2P download service like Soulseek. If it's a recent enough, you can buy the single which has it. There are no sites that I know of that let you download a capella tracks, legally at least. There may be something out there though. -b |

I can see you aren't stupid, but you might want trying to spell acapella correctly and it might give better search results. "A ccappella" |

oops, I noticed I spelled it wrong too. "a cappella" Doh! http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=a+capella&x=25&y=10 BTW, Amazon has books on remixing. I don't know how much they help, but I'm sure they couldn't hurt. -b |

Every little bit helps. Remixing has its complexities. I remember reading about a site where you could purchase accapellas, but I can't remember anything more than that. |

Yo ILL LEGAL, im with ya. I cant get to remix either. i got the acapella and the beats but i dont get the beatmap part. We havin' the same problem. How do u beat map. I know the beatmapper window pops up when you drag a song to ACID, but wht do u do to make the acapella match the beat. And, ILL LEGAL, why dont u use any P2P programs to get the acapellas. Thats where i got mine from. |

i dont use the beatmapper or the chopper at all. open the accapella up as a one shot. dont expect your vocal to match up with your track right away. move the vocal around ,adjust the tempo experiment????????????? focus on one part at a time??????????????? |

Just tell me the few beginning steps and i will do tje rest. I've been trying to do this for almost a year now. So please someone help me. I've got the acapella and the beat on the track. The Tempo (BMP) of my beat is 89.687. |

if the tempo of the vocal is about 99.0 bpm and the music you want to make is about 120.0 bpm my advise is to use prosoniq timefactory or propellerheads recycle. there time streching sounds better than acid for long stretches because thats all these 2 programs are designed to do . (acid is still the king) than open up the audio in acid and manipulate. IF YOU EXPECT TO GET A ACCAPELLA TO JUST LINE UP WITH WHATEVER MUSIC YOU ARE MAKING.............DREAM ON. I CANT HELP YOU when i was doing the m.o.p. remix (ante up and pounds up) i was editing (offsetting) vocal phrases for days until i got words to line up just right. |
