I have sound forge 6.0 and I was wondering if there is a way to emliminate any extra hissing and outside noise.

You can try one of the EQ processors and attenuating the high-end some, but of course this will effect everything in that frequency range.
A much better solution, providing your talking about constant "din" type noise, ie: HVAC, tape hiss, distant traffic, ect. requires a Noise Reduction plug-in from Sony or other vendor.
