Hello there,

One of my music co-worker wants to buy AP4 now but I told him not to, because AP5 will be out soon (by soon I meant 2-3 month). So he asked me : "If I buy AP4 now, will I have a special upgrade price for the next version ?". As he needs to finish a project on his demo version, and has a deadline to respect, I didn't know what to answer. And I can't say "maybe" because it's about his money ^^.

Does anyone have an Idea ? Will there be an upgrade special offer for these particular cases ?

You'd be much better off contacting customer service about this.
Historically, there's been a reduced upgrade price for owners of previous versions. However, you're best to check directly with Sony.

From memory all existing owners get the same deal - there's been no special "free" upgrade for recent purchasers. But do as Myst advises for true information - or perhaps check the Vegas forum for what happened with version 5....

I have seen some free upgrades, but usually only to people who have bought the previous version within a couple of weeks of the new version being released. Of course, none of us mere mortals knows when ACID 5 will be released, but if it was within 2 weeks i'm sure we'd be hearing news of it already.

That being said, the normal upgrade offer that existing users get is often in the $100 to $150 range for ACID Pro.
