I made wicked remix, spent a lot of time on it. Anyway, one day I load the project and the timing is off somehow. It's like the whole project has moved forward or backwards a second. It's an imported mp3. It has multiple tracks. On any given track It's not all one piece, it's broken up, and the peices have shifted. They are still in the same place, but it's not the part of the mp3 I originally edited. Help! |

Odd. What version of ACID are you using? Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

Ok... i can see what the problem is. I luckily found a working backup of the project. It somehow added like a second of silence to the beginning of the mp3 i'm using. You can see it. So the mp3 dosn't start where it used to hence the timing being all off. I have no idea how this happened. I suppose i could just cut the silence out, but it would be cool to figure out what happened and fix it properly. |

I believe that the mp3 encode adds a silence at the beginning and the end of the song/project. There isn't anything that you can do about it. It just does this I guess. Do a search for *mp3* on the Sound Forge forum. It's been brought up there a few times. the only problem with that theory is that I have working version of the project with the same mp3 with no silence. Somehow the project got corrupted maybe it has something to do with moving the files. You know, then you get the prompted to search or specify a new location. Or, maybe I replaced the audio codec used with a different one at some point. Or maybe when I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything something happened... who knows! I don't think it's something i did by mistake because it adds the silence to the beginning of every block... it's a pattern. Maybe i did it... who knows. |

Mario is indeed correct; the bit of silence at the beginning and end of an MP3 is inherent to the format. However, the silence shouldn't last for more than a fraction of a second. (I still wouldn't recommend the format for loops; only long media tracks.) If you ever have problems, you can slip edit an audio event to suit your needs. For example, holding down ALT while clicking and dragging will slip the event left or right. The contents of the event will move, but the event itself will remain in place. Save your mp3s as Sony Perfect Clarity Audio (.pca). It will only work in sony products, but you can edit the acid properties, it sounds good, and it doesn't take up any more room that mp3s. |
