It looks like it uses MIDI Clock to sync, but I'm not sure if it can act as master, slave or both. (There aren't any docs on AKAI's site pertaining to the MPC1000.) ACID likes to act as master in any sync situation, so you have to find out if the MPC1000 can act as slave. If it can, you'll need the appropriate cables to interface the unit with your soundcard or audio interface. (The MPC apparently uses USB, but it doesn't look like it implements MIDI through there like some other units do.) If it's a plain-vanilla Sound Blaster type card, you'll need MIDI adapter cables. Pro-level interfaces usually use standard 5-pin MIDI, so you'd need standard 5-pin MIDI cables. Both should be available via your local music shop. You'll have to read the manual to find the appropriate settings for the MPC to sync with another device. Remember that if you want to record or use digital audio (not MIDI) from the MPC1000, that's another whole ballgame.
