Subject:ACid Suddenly won't Work - MP3 PROBLEM

I haven't made ANY changes to anything (except for necessary XP & Virus Updates).

Suddenly, none of my Acid projects -- where I used MP3 samples-- will open at all: I think it won't even let me hear the WAV samples in those songs.

I did alot of work of these puppies, & now they are just sitting on my hard drive DEAD.

I noticed some posts about an Acid MP3 problem. Is this it?

Is there a fix?????

Have you tried locating your mp3s on your hard-drive and selecting Acid in their "Open with" option in the properties?

How do I do that exactly? I can locate the MP3 on my drive, but am not sure how to choose that "OPEN WITH" selection you mentioned.

(Thanks for your guys help, by the way, very frustrating)

Damn this French Widows XP! This is what happens when you're in Quebec and don't think to specify ENGLISH version XP, PLEASE!

I'm alright now, thanks.
It's just that when I describe steps to help people I have to translate what it must be in English. Royal pain in the butt!

When you go to Windows Explorer and find your mp3 file, right clic on it. At the bottom it should say "properties". Select that. Under GENRAL tab, it should say something like FILE TYPE. Right under that, it should say something like OPENS WITH. To the right of that there's a tab that should say, again something like, MODIFY. Select that and you'll see a list of most of the programs on your PC. Remember what it's set to, in case this doesn't work you can change it back.
You should be able to select ACID by highlighting it. Clic on APPLY.
Open up ACID and see if you can read your mp3s now.

I had a similar problem, & I had to re-install Acid to fix it. (I think the trouble started after one of teh Acid updates.)
