Subject:Can I insert effects on the time line?

If I have a track which is playing an audio clip, then just before it ends I want to add some reverb, is this possible.

I'd imagine you insert a marker along the time line at the point you want the effect to start.

My second question is, can you then switch the effect off at a later point on the time line.

Any help and advice on how to do this, as ever, will be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Monki.

You want to use FX Automation. Add the Reverb to the track. Then right-click on an empty part of the track and select FX Automation Envelopes > FX Automation.... Select the reverb effect you want to automate and the parameter you want to automate. (probably Reverb Out). This will add an automation envelope to the timeline. Now just double click at the points on the envelope that you want to change. Remember it takes at least two points (an in point and an out point) to give you the control you need to move from one state to another.

You can also place the cursor at the point you want to change the envelope, open the Reverb FX and play with the sliders. This will automatically add the points for you and adjust them as well. (which is probably a more intuitive way to do this once you've added the envelope)

Adding to what JohnnyRoy said, if you're using ACID Pro 4.0, you can add envelopes at the track level and/or at the bus level (whether it be for the master bus or other busses).

For example, you could send tracks 1, 2 and 3 to Bus A and then use an envelope for that bus. (To open up the bus view, press U on the keyboard. It'll appear under the main timeline view.)

This tip probably doesn't apply to your situation, but it's to let you know just the same.
