What are the best alternatives to ACID that I can use on Mac?

That might be GarageBand or Soundtrack. But I don't really know. There may be something not from Apple that I'm not aware of.

i have garageband, but i need something more on the level of acid pro and something that can support VSTi's

I think GarageBand is as close as you're going to get right now. Maybe Live from Ableton?
